You Don’t Have to Do It Alone: Continue the Journey Together.
Many of us feel stuck in our separateness when we undertake psychedelic-assisted therapy, desperate to connect with something larger than ourselves. If we’re lucky, the medicine blesses us with a sense of the interconnectedness of all things. It can also bring up challenging material.
Either way, once the glow wears off, there you are again, on your own, struggling to turn sparkling insights and new information into lasting change. We think that the way to integrate these feelings of connection is by creating community with others on a similar path.
This healing circle is for women interested in integrating medicine work in a safe group setting, whatever your medicine of choice, whether your experience was recent or many moons ago.
What: A face-to-face, small group experience designed to support the processing of experiences of non-ordinary consciousness. Open to female-identified folk who’ve engaged in psychedelic experiences for therapeutic purposes. Limited to 10 participants.
When: Mondays in March, 5:30-7:00 PM, March 2, 9, 16, 23
Where: Two meetings in Colonia San Rafael (2 & 16), two in Los Frailes (9 & 23), both in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
How much: $2000/mxn for four 1.5 hour long sessions
Your Hosts:
Co-facilitators Dr. Ellen Sharp and Soulful Life Coach Scarlett Rizvi interweave their collective knowledge of science-based Internal Family Systems therapy and shamanic spiritual traditions to create a safe container for this sacred collectivity.
Scarlett Rizvi is a full-time resident of San Miguel, offering sacred journeys and psychedelic integration rooted in Inca shamanic ceremony and healing traditions. Her work is shaped by her travel and study with the Inca medicine people of Peru. She is also a Soulful Life Coach, meditation teacher, and somatic dance guide, supporting deep personal transformation through embodied, heart-centered practices.
Ellen Sharp, PhD, is a teacher and therapeutic practitioner of IFS (Internal Family Systems), a transformative psychospiritual model for understanding the psyche. Ellen uses the tenets IFS to co-create the container for this work; you will have experienced a more compassionate way of relating to your psyche and to others by the end of our time together. Her background in cultural anthropology and environmental activism informs her approach to healing and medicine work.
What you can expect of us
The creation of a safe container for this work, as we hold the space and create structure through the wisdom of shamanic tradition and the compassion of IFS.
Organized, well-thought-out sessions that include a variety of activities and experiences for a variety of learning styles, from meditation and journaling reflections to pair, small group and full group sharing, to rituals and release ceremonies.
Openness to your feedback about the experience throughout duration of the circle, as we take responsibility for our own parts in any misunderstanding or disconnection that may arise amongst us.
What we’ll expect of you
Timeliness: We begin promptly at 5:30.
Commitment: To attend at least 3 out of 4 sessions (and preferably all of them)
Confidentiality: Whom you see here, what you say here, stays here.
Willingness:
- to participate in open-hearted sharing and open-hearted listening
- to bring a journal to the group for reflective writing exercises,
- to do minimal homework outside of group (i.e., noticing your parts when they arise throughout the week)
- to bring to us any questions about safety, barriers, doubts, discomfort, issues with other participants you may be having or with the group process so that we may address them
Please refrain from:
Interrupting others (unless by moderators for time management or for purposes of deepening the discussion), advice-giving, caretaking, rescuing, judgement, and criticism.
You will no doubt notice parts of you that hold these urges during our sessions: we ask you to acknowledge them internally as they arise and politely ask them to give you space so that You (i.e., your higher self) may remain present for your fellow participants. These parts of you may need more attention outside of the session.
Our deepest woundings are relational, which means that the deepest healing is relational as well. We look forward to holding this space with you.
